Is Your Diaper Drooping?
The sword swished through the air connecting with flesh. The force of the blow torn through the flesh and crushed the bone and broke free on the other side. It was a clean cut. The power of the blow had rendered the enemy helpless. The earth jarred beneath the feet of the warrior as the huge demon hit the ground. Fallen and defeated!
The battle had been fierce and long but the warrior was still standing and the enemy lay defeated at his feet. The few straggling demons began to run in terror as the warrior raised his sword again and took a step in their direction. It was obvious that they recognized they were no match for the powerful sword wielded by the mighty warrior.
It was a strange sight. On the open battlefield lay a giant grotesque demon rolling in pain and defeat. Both his legs had been cut off half way between his ankles and knees. His feet were still standing with their ugly claws embedded in the ground. The upper portion of his body lay sprawled out on the ground. Over him stood a young warrior, a very young warrior. As a matter of fact the warrior was only about two and half feet tall and was still wearing diapers. His little tiny feet were shod in red and in one hand he held a shining shield just his size and in the other he held a sword. The sword looked like a Bible except it shot forth a steady stream of pure light that formed a sword. The natural age of the warrior was well over forty but in the spirit he was a small child with great faith.
Suddenly, the tiny warrior began to shout and dance. He danced all around the fallen demon proclaiming. “Great is my King. Great is the Holy One I serve. Mighty in power and dominion. Praises to my God for He has given me the victory. He is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in Him I trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I called upon You my LORD, who is worthy to be praised; and You saved me from my enemies. (Ps 18:2-3)
The little warrior continued to dance and shout occasionally giving his diaper a tug as it began to droop. Mark 10:15 "Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." Mat 18:4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
A tiny child can stand boldly before a strong bully declaring, “You better not touch me. My Daddy will get you!” When a child has a strong Father, that child has a confidence and boldness because he is secure in His Father’s love and ability. I remember as a young child thinking my Daddy was the smartest man I had ever seen. I could not understand why they did not elect him president of the United States.
Our strength, boldness, and courage is found in the Father. To become strong in the Lord, we must become children. To become children we must know our Father. Jesus came that we might know the Father.
The cross of Calvary was the doorway into the Father’s heart. Most Christians receive the benefits of the Cross and stop right there. They delight in Jesus as their Savior but they forget that Jesus came so that they might know the Father. You can know Jesus as your Savior and never know God as your Father.
In the beginning God’s heart was to have fellowship with man. He walked and talked with Adam and Eve in the garden. The Father’s heart still cries out for his children to know Him and fellowship with Him.
Many have a personal relationship with Jesus but few have a personal relationship with the Father. It is when we come to know the Father that we will find our courage, our boldness, and the strength of our faith. My confidence is in My Father and His great love for me. My confidence is in His great Goodness and Mercy. I have a new gratitude in my heart toward Jesus my Savior because He made the way open to the Father.
I challenge you. Begin to pray that you might become as a little child and develop intimate relationship with the Father. Knowing His heart, His character, and His goodness will cause you to walk in a new boldness. It will cause you to find rest and security. You will discover your child like faith. |
